Abraj Al Bait Towers w Mekce to drugi najwyższy kompleks budynków na świecie.
As of 2014, the adjacent Mecca Royal Clock Tower Hotel will provide accommodation for 28,000 visitors. Every year, two million pilgrims visit the al-Haram Mosque situated at the foot of the towers to see the holy black stone Kaaba.
At a height of approx. 425 m, 2 million LED lights show the pilgrims the time and prayers on four enormous clock faces and additional media walls. The clocks are similar to those of London’s Big Ben; however their size is 40 x 40 metres.
The clock face is white during daytime and shines in green at night, the hands are black during daytime and brightly white at night. The hands of the Mecca clocks are so large that they can be trod upon during maintenance work.
For 5 years of development, Bartenbach LichtLabor planned the illumination system for the largest clocks and the media facades of the Abraj Al Bait Towers.
With its high quality D-SUB Combination connectors with high-power and signal contacts, CONEC participates in this gigantic project. The connectors ensure control and energy supply of the LEDs.
